AstroHacks, provided by The Hack Foundation, is a completely free coding competition designed for high school students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced coders. The main objective of AstroHacks is to create a space for students to learn coding, build projects, and have fun in a collaborative environment. The event also offers prizes and food to participants. The curriculum of AstroHacks focuses on practical coding and project-building skills. Throughout the event, students will participate in workshops and team-based hacking sessions, allowing them to apply their coding knowledge in real-world scenarios. Key activities include team formation, project development, and presentations judged by a panel. AstroHacks is delivered in-person and will be held at the Boys and Girls Club of Irvine, California. The competition is scheduled for April 13th, running for 12 hours from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. There are no prerequisites or eligibility criteria other than being a high school student. Participants are required to bring a form of identification, a laptop, chargers, and any additional items they may need for the event. Hack Club sponsors the event and offers to reimburse transportation costs for participants.
