The VelocityTX Career Incubator is a paid internship program that operates year-round and aims to equip high school and college students with valuable skills and experience in bioscience, entrepreneurial development, and related fields. This program is designed in response to the rapid growth of STEM career opportunities in San Antonio. The Career Incubator operates on an academic calendar, with launch dates in January, June, and September. The program gives students access to diverse opportunities in various industries such as bioscience and technology, trades, non-profit, and administration. It provides expert guidance to make sure the internship experience aligns with industry trends and best practices relevant to the students' future career goals. There's ongoing support throughout the internship, with orientation sessions at the beginning of each term and monthly cohort activities to enhance the overall experience and create a sense of community among the interns. Additionally, the program offers training and workshops to develop a broader skill set and gain a deeper understanding of the world. This preparation is aimed at equipping the interns to contribute effectively to their employer’s projects and enhance their career prospects.
