Back to database

The Conrad Challenge, provided by Space Center Houston, is a global competition designed to inspire high school students to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. Teams consisting of 2 to 5 students aged 13-18 work collaboratively to create original ideas that address pressing issues across various categories. Each team must also have an adult coach to guide them through the process. The challenge is delivered in a hybrid format, with both virtual and in-person components. Teams submit their ideas online and may be invited to present at the Conrad Challenge Innovation Summit or other associated Virtual Finals events. The competition encourages participants to file provisional patent applications to protect their inventions. Te eligibility criteria, such as team composition and the necessity for original work, are clearly defined. Participants gain valuable experience in teamwork, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with the potential to receive awards and benefits from sponsors.
