cuHacking, Carleton University's official hackathon event, is a dynamic platform designed for innovation, collaboration, and creativity. This event is inclusive and open to university and high school students with varying levels of coding experience, from beginners to seasoned coders. Participants can engage in problem-solving and turn their ideas into reality, regardless of their background or field of study. Teams of up to four members collaborate to tackle various challenges presented during the hackathon. The event covers a wide range of topics and skills related to technology and innovation. Participants have the opportunity to develop their coding skills, engage in collaborative projects, and learn from each other in a supportive environment. The hackathon format involves workshops, hands-on projects, and mentorship opportunities to foster learning and skill development. cuHacking is delivered in-person and offers a unique experience where participants can engage directly with peers and mentors. It is a free event, and efforts are made to provide travel reimbursements and arrangements for participants traveling from outside Ottawa. The main benefits of participating in cuHacking include the development of coding and problem-solving skills, the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals, and the chance to innovate and create solutions to real-world challenges.
