Dartmouth Precollege Summer Scholars is a selective program aimed at high school students in 9th to 11th grade, including homeschooled, U.S., and international students aged 14-18, seeking to explore academic areas at a college level. This program is delivered in various formats: a two-week residential program, a hybrid model combining online and in-person sessions, and a leadership institute with an outdoor component. Residential participants live on campus and can engage in co-curricular activities alongside their academic courses. The program offers a variety of courses designed by Dartmouth faculty, staff, and experienced instructors, focusing on real-world applications through hands-on, experiential learning. Courses cover diverse topics, encouraging students to expand their knowledge in areas such as company valuation, robotics programming, and creative writing. Although not for credit, participants receive a certificate of completion and a brief evaluation from their instructor upon finishing the course. Courses are taught by Dartmouth affiliates and other knowledgeable instructors, ensuring a high-quality educational experience. Participants are chosen through a competitive application process, and the program includes options for social and recreational activities on evenings and weekends. The residential program includes two sessions, from June 30 to July 10 and July 7 to July 17, with the hybrid program starting online on July 7 and continuing on-campus from July 14 to July 18. The leadership institute runs two sessions, incorporating both campus and outdoor experiences. Below is a list of courses offered this summer.
