The GFS NY Fellows Program by Ghetto Film School is an immersive visual storytelling course specifically designed for high school students. This free program provides more than 1,000 hours of comprehensive, college-level training over a span of 30 months. The curriculum encompasses both the art and business aspects of cinematic storytelling and production, preparing students to advance their education at top universities. A unique aspect of the program is the instruction offered by leading filmmakers and industry experts. This includes visits to live sets and studios, and international travel experiences, offering students a practical understanding of the filmmaking industry. The students also get the opportunity to screen their films at prestigious venues and receive college application advising, test prep support, and internship placement at top media and creative companies, adding to the program's value. The program accepts incoming applicants aged between 14 and 18. Notably, no prior filmmaking experience is required to participate in this opportunity, making it accessible to all interested students within this age range. On successful completion, students are positioned favorably for advancement in their academic journey as well as in potential careers in the creative industries. They will have gained valuable experience, skills, and industry insights from their involvement in the program.
