Each summer, Berklee welcomes students across the globe to its campus in the heart of Boston. More than 3,000 students travel from over 70 countries to hone their craft, make global connections, and collaborate with other like-minded musicians, actors, and dancers. Our faculty are Grammy-, Oscar-, and Tony-winning artists who are dedicated to helping you learn how to succeed in today’s performing arts and entertainment industries. In addition to our world-renowned undergraduate faculty, Berklee summer program participants learn from acclaimed visiting artists. Recent guests include Jacob Collier, Charlie Puth, Esperanza Spalding, and Ebony Williams. Get ready to experience gospel music like never before in this 5-day program for vocalists and instrumentalists. Guided by experts from the Berklee faculty and special guest clinicians, you'll dive deep into the gospel tradition through hands-on learning, covering everything from technique to group rehearsals and the history of gospel music. Whether you're looking to improve as a performer or simply deepen your understanding of gospel's impact on modern music, this program offers a unique and engaging opportunity for growth. The Gospel Performance Program offers ensemble rehearsal, technique-in-performance classes, and gospel history discussions. Classes will be led by Berklee faculty and visiting artists who are trained in the gospel tradition. Every participant's schedule will include a class in each of the following: -Ensemble: Rehearse with other vocalists and instrumentalists to perform in a final concert. Friends and family will not want to miss this performance. -Performance classes: Develop techniques appropriate for the style in this smaller class setting. -History: Study the roots of the gospel tradition through the evolution of gospel music today. Explore gospel's cultural relevancy and connection to contemporary music. -Master class: Participate in an elite master class with a visiting artist from the gospel tradition.
