The Hoya Summer High School Sessions provided by Georgetown University offer an immersive learning experience designed to equip students with the tools needed for college success. These sessions vary in length from one to eight weeks and cover a wide range of subjects, including forensic science, politics, creative writing, and more. Participants have the opportunity to meet classmates from around the world and earn college credit, offering a substantial introduction to college-level academics. The sessions include different program types such as the College Prep Program, Summer College, and Academies. The College Prep Program is a five-week course where students can take classes alongside current undergraduates, learn from renowned Georgetown faculty, and earn official university credit. This program includes standardized test preparation and seminars focused on the college admissions process. The Academies are shorter, lasting one to three weeks, and provide an accelerated, hands-on learning experience in specific subjects through collaborative exercises, simulations, and field trips in Washington, D.C. Admission to the Hoya Summer High School Sessions is open to highly motivated high school students from 8th grade to seniors who are in good academic standing. The application process considers high school grades, coursework, recommendation letters, and a personal statement, and operates on a rolling basis with an early bird deadline on January 31 and a final deadline on April 15. Participants will gain valuable skills and a competitive edge for college applications, alongside the unique benefit of experiencing college life firsthand. The cost for the Summer College and College Prep programs is approximately $2,207 per credit. The Academies start at $3,025 for a 1-week commuter option and can go up to $8,410 for a 3-week medical program. Below is a list of courses offered this summer.
