Its main objective is to inspire and challenge students with a keen interest in these areas through creative problem-solving while fostering international understanding and cooperation among participants. The Olympiad encourages the development of logical thinking and the creative application of general knowledge to solve complex problems. Key topics covered in the IEO include Financial Literacy, with a set of 25 multiple-choice questions on various aspects, Economics through a blend of open and multiple-choice questions on theory and practice, and Business Case presentations where participants present case solutions before a panel of judges. The competition aims to promote awareness of Economics, Finance, and Business and aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including quality education and reduced inequalities. The Olympiad is delivered in-person, with events being held at a designated venue in the host country. It includes a comprehensive plan that covers social and cultural programs for the contestants, team leaders, and observers. The IEO is supported by a variety of committees, including the International Board, Executive Board, and Problem Committee, which ensure the quality and fairness of the competition. Participation is free of charge, making it accessible to students from various countries. Participants gain valuable skills in Economics, Finance, and Business, fostering leadership qualities and international communication skills.
