The Arts & Communication Pre-College Programs offer intensive summer experiences for high school students. Pre-College at Emerson offerings are challenging, fun, and designed to teach students competitive, practical skills in one academic area of communication and the arts. Living as an on-campus Emerson student, you will have access to instructors, resources, and spaces (i.e. tv studios, camera kits, sound stages, etc.) used by Emerson undergraduate students. A few select programs can also be completed for academic credit. This is a remote program. It will take place in a synchronous live format while using Zoom in EST, with asynchronous elements using our Canvas online learning management software and Google Suite. The Marketing + Creative Enterprise program will provide a pre-college experience that introduces students to fundamentals of marketing in today’s creative enterprises. Emerson faculty will guide students in identifying key questions that explain the success of established and emerging personalities, products, and campaigns in markets around the world. Faculty will leverage insights from their own experiences as entrepreneurs, scholars, and thought leaders. Lessons will be delivered using a mix of music, brief lectures, expert guest speakers, challenge exercises, mini projects, and group discussions. Our approach to teaching and learning will employ a blend of in-person, remote (via Zoom), and asynchronous (content review, discussion boards, etc.) formats. The Marketing + Creative Enterprise Institute is a non-credit program. Students in non-credit programs will receive a Pass/Fail grade on their transcript.
