This is a career exploration program designed to expose high school students to a

cross-section of experts across health and medical careers, while simultaneously enhancing their basic science knowledge. Participants will learn the basics of cellular and molecular biology and how these concepts of human biology play out in various illnesses. Each week, students will be guided by different laboratories or clinical departments within the Mount Sinai Health System. Each department will take students through the real-world application of scientific concepts from their respective discipline in a virtual setting. Coursework will include virtual lab tours, case studies, facilitated discussions, and an introductory series on disparities in health and medicine. Students will also participate in team building, leadership development and college readiness. Delivery style The course is offered online by using Zoom and Google classroom.
