The Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre offers the Musical Miracles Youth Repertory Company, a performance troupe that aims to enhance the musical theatre skills of advanced performers aged 10 and older. The program runs from September through May, excluding the holiday breaks of Miami-Dade County Schools. Participants can expect to delve into voice training, dance, character development, and musical theatre performance through Master Classes. Under the guidance of Theatre for Young Audience’s Director Earl Maulding, the troupe meets on Saturday afternoons for 2-6 hours. Participants will have the chance to perform a musical revue-style show in the Fall and a fully staged production in March. For the upcoming March performance, additional rehearsal time will be required. Participation in the Musical Miracles Youth Repertory Company also includes community service opportunities at theatre events, rounding off the experience with an end-of-the-year awards ceremony. Auditions for the program take place in late August. The fee for this enriching and comprehensive theatrical experience is $2000. Upon completion of the program, participants will have honed their skills in various aspects of musical theatre, including voice, dance, and performance. This forms a unique and family-oriented group, providing a solid foundation for any young actor looking to advance their career in musical theatre.
