The NYU Precollege program offers high school students the unique opportunity to experience life as a college student while earning college credits. Designed for rising 11th and 12th graders, this immersive program allows participants to explore a variety of academic subjects, connect with award-winning NYU faculty, and engage with peers from around the world. Whether students wish to deepen their knowledge in a field of interest or explore a new discipline, the program provides a dynamic, intellectually rigorous environment on NYU’s vibrant New York City campus. Participants can select from a diverse array of courses across disciplines such as STEM, humanities, arts, media, and business. Examples include Introduction to Computer Programming, Acting for the Camera, Medical Ethics, and Introduction to Sports Management. In addition to academic coursework, students can attend College 101 workshops, which cover essential topics such as the college admissions process, study skills, and financial aid. Courses are available both in-person and online, offering flexibility to accommodate different schedules and preferences. For those attending during the summer, campus housing is available, providing a comprehensive residential college experience. Students enrolled in the program gain access to NYU’s extensive resources, including the library system, peer tutoring services, dining halls, and organized social activities. Summer participants can enjoy events such as Broadway shows, museum visits, and sports games, fostering a vibrant community and enriching their overall experience. With no prerequisites other than strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA), the program welcomes motivated students ready to challenge themselves academically and personally. Scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition are available for need-based applicants during the summer term. NYU Precollege prepares students not only for the rigors of college academics but also for a deeper engagement with the world around them.
