The Science without Borders® Challenge is an international student art contest organized by the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation. The main objective of this initiative is to engage students in the theme of ocean conservation through art, thereby promoting ocean literacy and encouraging participants to contribute to the protection and restoration of ocean health. The challenge focuses on inspiring conservation action by leveraging creative expression to highlight the importance of preserving aquatic ecosystems. The contest is delivered online, allowing participants from around the world to submit their artwork digitally. It is open to students, and teachers are provided with resources such as lesson plans and grading rubrics to help guide their students in creating art that aligns with the contest theme. Certificates are awarded to all eligible participants, and winners are announced in May, indicating a timeline that spans several months for submissions and judging. The challenge is accessible to a broad range of students interested in art and ocean conservation. The key outcome is the enhancement of students' understanding of ocean issues, as well as the opportunity to gain recognition for their artistic talents on an international platform.
