The Center for Brooklyn History Teen Internship is a free, in-person program designed for high school students with an interest in history, archival work, and community engagement. This internship offers participants the opportunity to explore Brooklyn’s rich history through hands-on projects, including archival research, digitization of historical documents, and the creation of public history presentations. Interns will gain practical experience in the field of public history, working alongside experienced professionals in archival science and historical research. The program includes workshops on topics such as archival techniques, historical interpretation, and digital storytelling, allowing students to develop a range of valuable skills. Throughout the internship, participants will be involved in collaborative projects that contribute to the preservation and presentation of Brooklyn’s history, culminating in a final presentation or exhibition. This program is ideal for students passionate about history and interested in exploring careers in museums, archives, or public history.
