Back to database

As international journalism evolves in response to a rapidly changing media landscape, the role of the foreign correspondent is more complex now than it has ever been. In this course, students will investigate how this complexity affects correspondents who analyze events of international importance while simultaneously ensuring that people’s stories get told accurately and ethically. Investigating ethics guiding the practice of journalism, students will also learn the mechanics of journalistic writing, challenge their personal assumptions and biases and explore the world with a curious eye. As a result, students will learn the role that journalists play in shaping reader understanding of the world and the policies that leaders set.
