Each summer, Berklee welcomes students across the globe to its campus in the heart of Boston. More than 3,000 students travel from over 70 countries to hone their craft, make global connections, and collaborate with other like-minded musicians, actors, and dancers. Our faculty are Grammy-, Oscar-, and Tony-winning artists who are dedicated to helping you learn how to succeed in today’s performing arts and entertainment industries. In addition to our world-renowned undergraduate faculty, Berklee summer program participants learn from acclaimed visiting artists. Recent guests include Jacob Collier, Charlie Puth, Esperanza Spalding, and Ebony Williams. Unlock your full vocal potential in this 5-day program focused on vocal development. With expert guidance in areas such as vocal technique, style, performance skills, band singing, group singing, and a cappella performance, you'll have the opportunity to grow as a vocalist, singer-songwriter, or instrumentalist who sings. Vocal Summit is designed for those who want to delve into the world of contemporary vocal music and improve their overall sound. Get ready for an exciting journey of growth and discovery! The Vocal Summit program offers styles in pop-rock, pop and R&B, jazz, and musical theater. You'll select one style to study during the program and participate in several core classes throughout the week. - Solo coaching: These are small classes where singers perform solo songs with accompaniment in a master class setting. Students will be coached on interpretation, phrasing, expression, timbre, register, key selection, working with a band, - - count-offs, cues, cutoffs, microphone technique, and stage presence. - Ensembles: Vocal ensembles are groups of 20–40 singers directed by Berklee faculty and accompanied by a rhythm section. Each ensemble will perform one musical selection at the final concert.
